About Thomas

Hi, I’m Thomas!

Welcome to my kitchen! My name is Thomas Pagot and I am the founder, photographer, and recipe developer behind Full of Plants. I started this blog in 2016, driven by the desire to archive and organize my vegan recipes while still being able to share them with the world.

What began as a personal blog rapidly became a trusted resource for plant-based recipes, attracting an ever-growing audience with hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors.

Why I Went Vegan

For most of my childhood, my diet consisted mainly of meat, fish, and dairy products. Years later, my perspective shifted when I got tired of having acne covering my face. Despite receiving many dermatologist-prescribed treatments, none of them worked, and some even made things even worse. After researching alternative solutions, I discovered that some people treated their acne by simply modifying their diet, without the need for pills or face creams.

At the same time, I was also experiencing serious bloating issues. I realized that it always occurred whenever I was consuming dairy products such as yogurt or cow’s milk with my cereals. Right after I stopped consuming dairy milk, I felt instantly better.

It was not until I completely eliminated all dairy products that my skin started to heal by itself. Although I admit that giving up cheese and ice cream was a bit challenging initially, it quickly got easier as I discovered all of the vegan alternatives. After just four weeks, my skin began to clear up, the scars I had for several months were fading and I did not experience any new breakouts.

As I was learning more and more about health and animal welfare, I gradually stopped my consumption of meat, fish, and eventually eggs. Doing this opened up a new world of possibilities, where I could prepare delicious yet healthy meals using mostly vegetables, grains, and fruits. I now have more energy and feel significantly better than before.

My Background

Prior to starting Full of Plants, I worked for 6 years as the graphic designer and co-founder of a mobile video game company. We created casual and RPG mobile games that received multiple features on Apple’s App Store. Although developing mobile games was a fun and exciting experience, the app market quickly became oversaturated, making it very challenging for independent app developers to succeed.

As I discovered the fantastic world of plant-based cooking, I found myself experimenting with many recipes in the kitchen. It became apparent that I needed a place to organize my recipes. That’s when I created Full of Plants.

Through years of learning recipe writing and food photography through various training courses, and a little bit of coding here and there, I finally reached a point where I could work full-time on Full of Plants.

The first recipe that went viral was my Vegan Camembert, which received over 275 reviews and thousands of social shares. As a French, cheese was the food I missed the most in my early vegan days. After learning that cashews could be used to create vegan cheese, I started experimenting with cultures and learning traditional cheese-making techniques to develop dairy-free alternatives. After tens of failed trials, the vegan camembert was born! To this day, it is still one of the most popular recipes on the blog.

What You’ll Find Here

At Full of Plants, you will find over 500 vegan recipes. My goal through this blog is to show people how they can eat a variety of dishes, desserts, and snacks using only plant-based ingredients. Let’s stop the myth that vegans only eat salad and carrots!

I test each recipe multiple times and try to make the instructions as clear as possible so everyone, from beginners to experienced cooks, can succeed. I also share tips, frequently asked questions, and variations for you to try on most of the recipes. For convenience, I also include both U.S. standards and metrics.
